This privacy policy is composed to comply with GDPR-standards. We have put necessary procedures in place to protect your data. We only gather and store data via the contact form. In case a comment is placed or an account is created, we follow the standard wordpress guidelines.

We only store data provided via the contact form. This includes the input fields ‘name’, ‘e-mailaddress’ and ‘message’. In case the checkbox ‘I want to receive updates on the Nile Institute project’ is indicated as ‘yes’, we will send out updates on our project to the respective parties.

Comments

When visitors leave responses on the site, we collect the data shown in the response form, the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent to fight spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service if you use it. The privacy policy page can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Media

When uploading images to the website, you should avoid uploading images containing GPS location data (EXIF data). Visitors to the website can download the images from your website and view this location data.

No. Only the board members of the Nile Institute Foundation have insight into your personal data.

How long do we store your data?

Following the standar privacy policy; When you leave a reaction, that reaction and the metadata of that reaction will be saved forever. This way we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up responses instead of having to moderate them. The same applies for reactions in the contact form.

For users who register on our website (if applicable), we also store personal information in their user profile. All users can view, change or delete their personal information at any time (only the user name cannot be changed). Site administrators may also view and change this information.

Your data rights

If you have an account on this website or have posted comments, you may request an export file of your personal information that we have on you, including any information you have given us. You may also request that we remove any personal information we have about you. This does not contain any data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Your data is protected with the most attention of our privacy policy. It is stored offline in an excel-sheet. We will not share your information. All parties with access to the data are made aware of the risks and confidentiality of your data.

Procedures in case of a data breach

All affected parties will be informed within 48 hours of the data breach on a possible risk, including details on the kind and timing of the data breach. A recent offline back-up will be restored.
