6 steps closer to finishing the construction works

Published by Web Master on

Since the beginning of March, the finishing of the building started. The Nile Institute Rwanda is happy to provide another update with 6 major improvements up until August. This marks the 70% completion milestone of the total construction works. We are looking to finish funding for the exterior windows and door, ensuring a wind and watertight building. At that point, the laboratory equipment can already be made and installed.

1. Covers for drainage

The covers for the inspection pits of the drainage system – both rain and sanitary water – were cemented & placed.

2. Septic tank

To ensure a ‘swift passage’, a concrete septic tank was placed. Calculations prove it’s suitable for an equivalent of approx. 50 visitors.

3. Terrace wall

If only pictures could capture a feeling. The beautiful terrace wall was finished with utmost care & attention. I mean, look at the details!

4. Smoothing cement

Nothing is left untouched. Even the cement of the support beams & underside of the floating terrace is treated to bring out a smooth finish.

5. Entrance stairs

One of the main features of the building was placed in a handful of steps.

The entrance  is constructed with rocks & a concrete slope. Almost ready to welcome some visitors.

6. Tiling walls & floors

Bring in the tiles! All in- & outside floors were carefully tiled, as well as the walls of the toilets, the lab shower and the kitchen. Ready for a game of checkers?
