2026 – The grand opening year for the Nile Institute Rwanda (NIR)

Published by Web Master on

When people tell you ‘life comes with ups & downs’, they don’t necessarily realize the amount of willpower & perseverance it takes to get back up after a down. The road towards the Nile Institute Rwanda has been long and winding. Remember Covid-19? Watched the news lately? Heard about the troubled diplomatic waters between Rwanda & Belgium?

Despite these force majeures, the Nile Institute has always kept it’s chin up; eyes at the horizon. Almost feeling nostalgic, looking back at April 2023, the NIR takes a lot of proud into what’s already been achieved: the main building has almost been finished, the laboratory has been  furnished & equipped, the exhibition concept has been fully developed and lastly – after considerate negotiating – the last financial milestone has been reached.

Therefore the Nile Institute Rwanda is delighted to share that it is opening its construction site again! We have started all the remaining surrounding works, including the retaining wall behind the institute, the cafeteria terrace, the outdoor toilets, the access stairs, the parking, the jetty… With a bit of optimism, our hands are itching to open the doors September 2026. Stay tuned for more.
